Job summary

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer to support mechanical and electrical components for critical line functions in Newberry, SC.

You will work with Production and Engineering to validate new equipment, monitor machine functions, and implement quality and safety projects on the manufacturing line. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering and 2–3 years of manufacturing or electronic engineering experience, with strong CAD/CAM skills and MS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• 2–3 years of manufacturing, mechanics, or electronic engineering experience preferred.
• Understanding of functional principles of electrical parts; CAD/CAM knowledge.
• Lean Six Sigma knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Production and Engineering to implement, optimize, and troubleshoot test loops on the production line to validate product quality, safety, and performance.
• Monitor critical machine functions to ensure quality and process adherence.
• Implement projects focused on quality, safety, and productivity throughout the product lifecycle.
• Create and revise standards, policies, and procedures related to development and engineering.
• Support technical solutions for electrical or mechanical problems during plant setup for critical line areas.
• Assist Product Engineering Manager in staff training (Sector Leaders oversee a team of PEs).
• Participate in New Model / CR discussions for information sharing and action tracking.
• Verify and communicate Engineering Change Samples for Quality, Cost, and Delivery improvement.
• Collaborate with HQ PE and Mold teams on mold modifications to resolve line issues and improve material quality.
• Suggest countermeasures for Main Line Production issues to enhance quality and productivity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modify material billing, drawings, and engineering specifications/standards.
• Other responsibilities as assigned by management; duties may change.
