Job summary

Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Company is seeking a Product Engineer with experience in manufacturing to evaluate designs for manufacturability and drive new products into production.

The PE will lead technical aspects of projects from proposals through production, with emphasis on CAD, fixtures, PFMEA, Lean methods, and cross-functional collaboration across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in an engineering discipline (mechanical, chemical or industrial) preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing environments and multi-part mechanisms.
• Knowledge of military defense mechanisms and systems.
• CAD, 3-D modeling, drawings and GD&T.
• Design for Manufacturing methods and tooling/fixtures.
• Strong leadership, program/project management and problem solving.
• Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement familiarity.
• ERP/MRP systems experience; MS Office including MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of manufacturing documentation and tooling specifications.
• Act as technical liaison between customer and EBAD.
• Solve manufacturing problems and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure production viability and approvals.
• Interface with shop floor personnel and support Lean initiatives.
• Develop automated test fixtures and assembly tools.
• Track milestones and ensure on-time completion of production programs.
