Job summary

OpenGov is seeking a Product Engineer II to own a growing product area with cross-functional exposure. You will guide discovery, roadmap input, and delivery, using AI-assisted tooling to accelerate outcomes for customers.

You will review AI-generated specs, define flow patterns within the design system, and collaborate with engineering to ensure quality and timely releases. Strong communication and customer discovery experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience in product management, software engineering, or a closely adjacent technical role.
• Experience contributing to cross-functional engineering projects with awareness of system architecture and goals.
• Experience conducting customer or stakeholder interviews and translating requirements into actionable specs.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the product vision for your area, grounded in customer research and business goals.
• Own the product roadmap: prioritize ruthlessly and revise as needed.
• Define user experience flows within the design system and elevate when new patterns are required.
• Write clear intent documents for AI tooling and review AI-generated specs for accuracy.
• Partner with engineering to unblock builds and resolve ambiguity in real time.
• Track adoption, usage, and business outcomes to drive next iterations.
