Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Product Engineer I to lead innovation for window and door products within the Product Engineering Team. The role focuses on new product development, improved performance, and revenue/cost initiatives, collaborating across engineering, sales, and manufacturing.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Engineering with 2+ years in engineering, experience in fenestration or construction preferred, and strong CAD/3D modeling skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required (Mechanical preferred).
• 2+ years of relevant engineering work experience preferred.
• Experience in new product development preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to problem solve and work in teams.
• Experience in fenestration and/or construction preferred.
• Ability to handle multiple competing demands and strong manufacturing process understanding.
• Strong communication with cross functional teams and ability to articulate complex concepts.
• Proactive in identifying building code changes and trends to stay ahead of industry demands.

Responsibilities

• Designs, prototypes, certifies, and launches new products.
• Analyzes current products to ensure specifications are maintained.
• Reviews, analyzes, and determines feasibility of new products and designs.
• Monitors products for compliance with industry standards (AAMA, WDMA, NFRC, etc.).
• Creates drawings, schematics, prototypes, and data reports for coordination.
• Manages Engineering Change Orders and Non-Standard Product Requests.
• Acts as technical lead for projects within assigned product lines.
