Job summary

FMI seeks an experienced Product Engineer - Composites to join the Advanced Materials group within the Research and Technology team. You will lead development, prototyping, and processing of carbon and ceramic composites, coordinating with materials, process, project management, and manufacturing teams.

You will apply scientific methods to advance TRL and MRL, conduct experiments, and contribute to design reviews and technical reporting, ensuring safety and quality in all activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline; mechanical engineering preferred.
• Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with fabrication of composite materials.
• Ability to read and execute technical instructions and drawings.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and sustain manufacturing methods for high temperature thermal protection materials.
• Assist cross-functional teams to solve processing and procedural issues; create fixtures and tooling.
• Draft policies, standards, and procedures for engineering work.
• Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices and traceability.
