Job summary

GovSignals is hiring a Product Engineer in New York, NY. You’ll join a fast-moving team, own end-to-end customer-facing product areas, and ship features daily.

You’ll work with a modern stack (TypeScript, SvelteKit, Postgres) and leverage AI pairing tools to maximize output while maintaining production reliability. This hybrid role requires strong communication with design and customers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-stack engineering delivering customer-facing features end-to-end.
• Strong frontend TypeScript skills with modern frameworks.
• Hands-on Postgres and backend TypeScript experience, including schemas and migrations.
• Daily use of AI coding assistants as a multiplier, not a novelty.
• Ability to decompose ambiguous problems into shippable increments and communicate tradeoffs.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of high-impact product areas and ship customer-facing improvements daily—from whiteboard to production.
• Rapidly iterate on UI, UX, and core logic based on real user feedback and production data.
• Decompose ambiguous goals into clear engineering plans and execute them.
• Use AI pair-programming tools to boost productivity and drive the team to do the same.
• Monitor production metrics, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure reliability.
• Collaborate with design, customers, and CS to translate feedback into product decisions.
