Job summary

Enpro is seeking a versatile Product Engineer to contribute across the full product lifecycle—from concept to launch and ongoing line support. This role thrives in cross‑functional environments, solving challenging engineering problems and making a direct impact on innovative product development.

The candidate will lead design and prototyping, collaborate on equipment selection, maintain engineering documentation, and support product launches with marketing and business teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years applicable experience.
• Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working within ISO 9000 – Design Control or similar quality systems.
• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and SharePoint.
• Experience with statistical analysis and SPC tools such as Minitab.
• Preferred experience in: SolidWorks for product, mold and tool design; Polymer composites manufacturing process; PDM software; SSGB, CMM, GD&T, and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Translate design input requirements into actionable engineering plans.
• Lead engineering efforts for new product design, development, and prototyping.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, evaluate, and procure new equipment and technologies for capital expenditure projects.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to define standardized workflows and support production processes.
• Develop high‑quality technical documentation and materials for successful product launches.
• Work with Marketing and Business Development to define product requirements, timelines, and project plans.
• Maintain and update engineering documentation for assigned product lines.
• Collaborate to improve product design integrity, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
• Produce engineered CAD drawings as needed.
• Support customers with application‑related technical questions.
• Apply standard engineering processes to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
• Serve as SME for assigned product lines; provide technical guidance.
• Research and evaluate new materials and technologies to enhance processes.

Essential Functions:

New Product Development

• Translate design input requirements into actionable engineering plans.
• Lead engineering efforts for new product design, development, and prototyping.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to design, evaluate, and procure new equipment and technologies that enhance company capabilities through capital expenditure projects.
• Partner with Manufacturing Engineering to define standardized workflows and support capable, efficient production processes.
• Develop high‑quality technical documentation and supporting materials to ensure successful product launches.
• Work closely with Marketing and Business Development to define product requirements, timelines, and project plans.

Product Line Support

• Maintain and update engineering documentation—including work instructions, SOPs, raw material purchase specifications and product specifications—for assigned product lines.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve product design integrity, quality, manufacturability, and cost competitiveness.
• Produce engineered CAD drawings as needed.
• Support customers by addressing application‑related technical questions.

General Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering processes, tools, and best practices to ensure consistent, high‑quality outcomes.
• Serve as the subject matter expert for assigned product lines, providing technical guidance and cross‑functional support.
• Research and evaluate new materials, technologies, equipment, and tools to enhance processes, expand capabilities, and enable innovative product development.

Competencies:

Job Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years applicable experience
• Strong communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working within ISO 9000 – Design Control or similar quality systems.

Enpro carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including thebackground, education, training,and experience required, as well as geographicconsiderations such as cost of labor, and applicable local andstate laws. These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position istypically $75,000- $115,000annually.
