Job summary

Enpro seeks a Project Engineer to plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects from initiation through completion. You will ensure technical, schedule, cost, and quality objectives while serving as the primary liaison among engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams.

You will support NPD activities including design, testing, qualification, and transition to production, while communicating with Program Management and managing evolving expectations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related discipline.
  • 2 years of engineering or manufacturing experience focused on new product development.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, design fundamentals, manufacturing processes, materials, and GD&T.
  • Proficiency with CAD, configuration management, ERP systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Experience with cost estimation, quotes, and budgeting.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Professional, positive attitude and drive for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Act as primary liaison between Design, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and customers.
  • Create and maintain project schedules and timelines from initiation to production transfer.
  • Assist in project cost estimation and quotations.
  • Coordinate with commercial teams to align expectations with capabilities, risks, and schedules.
  • Maintain project documentation per QMS and AS9100 requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with customers and prospects and build relationships.
  • Lead cross-functional efforts without formal authority across departments.
  • Leverage internal and external experts to support projects.
  • Ensure contracts, budgets, and terms are defined and managed.

Job description

The Project Engineer is a strategic, technical based and business-oriented role, focusing on delivering solutions to market-based needs. The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing engineering projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures that projects meet technical requirements, schedule, cost, and quality objectives while serving as the primary liaison between engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and commercial teams. The project engineer is responsible for regular communication with Program Management and managing expectations on execution. Project Engineer plays a critical role in new product development (NPD), supporting design, testing, qualification, and transition to production.

What You'll Do:
  • Acts as a primary liaison between Design, Contracts Administrator, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Sales and the customer.
  • Creates and maintains project schedules and timelines from project initiation until completion and transition to production.
  • Asist in project cost estimation and quotation.
  • Coordinate with commercial team to ailing expectations with capabilities, risks, and schedules.
  • Maintain project documentation in accordance with QMS and AS9100 requirement.
  • Communicates regularly with customers and prospective customers and develops and maintains legitimate customer relationships.
  • Acts as a leader within the company without formal authority and bridges every department that touches products/projects cross-functionally.
  • Leverages the knowledge of experts inside and outside the company.
  • Ensures project requirements are defined, contract, and contract changes are negotiated, operating budgets established, and financial terms/conditions of contract are identified
  • Support creation of technical reports, design reviews, test plans, and qualification documentation.

Enpro carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors including thebackground, education, training,and experience required, as well as geographicconsiderations such as cost of labor, and applicable local andstate laws. These considerations can cause offered compensation to vary. The hiring range for this position istypically $89,651- $134.477annually. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.Bonus,gainshare, and/or equitymay be eligible for this position.Enpro offers a range of benefits including, butnotlimited to medical, dental, vision, life, 401(k) matching, and other supplementalinsurance options.
