Advantage Technical is seeking a seasoned Design Engineer to support development of automotive interior accessories from concept through production in Southfield, MI. This onsite role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and suppliers to drive successful launches.

You will design and develop components, maintain CAD models and drawings, and manage projects through the full development lifecycle, including supplier engagement and tooling

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in mechanical/automotive/product design field.
• 5+ years automotive product development experience.
• 5+ years designing and launching automotive interior components or accessories.
• Proficiency with CATIA V5/V6 or comparable CAD software.
• Experience with engineering documentation, validation, and product release processes; strong communication and supplier management skills.

Now Hiring: Design Engineer

Location: Southfield, MI

Pay: Up to $43.00/hour

Schedule: Full-Time, Onsite (40 hours/week with potential overtime)

We are seeking an experienced Design Engineer to support the development of innovative vehicle accessory products from concept through production. This position offers the opportunity to manage product development projects while collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and supplier teams.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and develop automotive accessory products and interior components.
• Create and maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, validation plans, and product documentation.
• Manage products throughout the full development lifecycle, from concept through production launch.
• Support supplier selection, feasibility reviews, tooling discussions, and product sourcing activities.

• Ability to lead projects independently in a fast-paced environment.
