Job summary

MillenniumSoft Inc. in Brea, CA is seeking a Product Development Technician/Mechanical Engineering Tech for a 12-month, on-site contract.

You will perform routine technical tasks, help develop test setups and prototypes, and provide data, reports and drawings to support engineers in a medical devices environment. Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of lab/technician experience, can follow written procedures, and work well in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4–6 years in a lab, regulated environment, or technician role.
• Preferred: BS in a technical field with 1–2 years in lab/R&D following procedures.
• Experience working with a team and following written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Gather, maintain, format, and manipulate technical data and engineering docs.
• Prepare reports and summaries including quantitative analysis.
• Provide technical task completion and support to engineers.
• Help scope equipment and qualifications for use.
• Assist in lab functions: calibration, safety procedures, maintenance.
• Document test results and communicate findings effectively.

Job Description Summary:

• We are seeking a Product Development Tech for our Brea, CA facility.
• This person contributes to the completion of routine technical tasks and develops solutions to routine technical problems of specified scope.
• Their contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor, project leaders, and other professionals in the unit.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produces engineering document, reports, and drawings (flow charts, block diagrams and schematics)
• Prepares reports and summaries, including quantitative analysis
• Provides completion of technical tasks.
• Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks.
• Helps scope equipment for use and complete qualifications
• Works with team to on general lab functions; including calibration, implementation of safety procedures, and routine equipment maintenance
• Notifies manager or team lead upon recognition of factors that may affect project
• Helps develop prototype processes and test set-ups
• Executes designed test protocol and conducts testing
• Effectively documents and communicates test results
• Handles test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing

Requirements

Minimum Requirement:

• Minimum education requirement is high school diploma, experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment for a minimum of 4-6 years, experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team
• Preferred requirement: Bachelor of Science in a technical area and at least 1-2 year of experience in a laboratory/R&D setting following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team.

• Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures
• The ability to work effectively in a cross functional group and communicate effectively with the lab team and extended team members
• Develops solutions to routine technical problems of limited scope
• Proficiency in personal computers
