Job summary

On-Board Services is hiring a Product Development Technician – Adhesives & Laboratory Testing in Bridgewater, NJ. This 1-year contract role supports the lab with adhesive material prep, testing, data collection, and equipment upkeep.

You will document results and assist with product development under supervision of a chemist or manager. Requirements include 3+ years of lab experience, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably an technical associate/bachelor degree.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of demonstrated laboratory experience.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's in a technical field is preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Ability to follow experimental protocols and maintain accurate data records.
• Comfort working with hazardous chemicals and safe lab practices.
• Ability to stand for most of the workday in a lab setting.

Position Overview:

Under the supervision of a Chemist and/or Manager, the Product Development Technician will support laboratory and product development activities with a high level of initiative and independence. This position will be responsible for preparing adhesive materials, conducting testing, collecting and documenting data, and maintaining laboratory equipment and work areas.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare adhesives and adhesive additives for production.
• Perform quality control testing and testing of adhesive products.
• Test the performance characteristics of substrates using established procedures.
• Organize and perform experiments using established procedures.
• Evaluate, collect, and accurately record experimental data.
• Summarize and report experimental results in an electronic laboratory notebook.
• Enter data and information into computer systems, including creating charts and tables to communicate project results.

• Follow all applicable laboratory safety procedures and protocols, including proper handling of hazardous chemicals.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of demonstrated laboratory experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
• Computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to understand and follow experimental protocols while maintaining accurate data and records.
• Comfortable working with hazardous chemicals while following safe laboratory practices and protocols.
• Ability to stand and work in a laboratory environment for most of the workday.
