Job summary

JobDiva, Inc. invites applications for a R&D Associate in Midland, MI. This 1-year contract role supports research and development activities focused on material characterization, polymer composites, and laboratory operations.

The incumbent will operate benchtop test equipment, perform data collection, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help improve testing methods while maintaining lab safety and equipment calibration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or related discipline preferred.
  • Formulation experience with polymer composite matrices highly preferred.
  • Experience with data acquisition and data management.
  • Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

  • Operate benchtop test equipment to characterize material properties.
  • Learn and become proficient in laboratory tests and procedures.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Apply scientific reasoning to troubleshoot basic problems.
  • Use hand tools for sample preparation or hardware modification.
  • Collect, organize and compile data from laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members on R&D projects.
  • Maintain the laboratory, including labeling and waste disposal.
  • Maintain, verify and calibrate laboratory equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing techniques, equipment, hardware, or software.

Responsibilities

The R&D Associate will support research and development activities involving material characterization, testing, sample preparation, and laboratory operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate benchtop test equipment to characterize a variety of material properties and conduct reliability testing.
  • Learn and become proficient in a variety of laboratory tests, processes, and procedures.
  • Complete assigned work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Apply scientific reasoning to troubleshoot and solve basic problems.
  • Use hand tools for sample preparation and projects involving hardware modification or fabrication.
  • Collect, organize, and compile data from laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional team members on R&D projects.
  • Maintain the laboratory, including proper sample labeling, organization, and waste disposal.
  • Maintain, verify, and calibrate designated laboratory equipment.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing techniques, equipment, hardware, or software.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related discipline preferred.
  • Formulation experience involving polymer composite matrices is highly preferred.
  • Experience with data acquisition and data management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot characterization and application equipment.
  • Background or experience with silicones and related testing methodologies is beneficial.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability and willingness to learn and apply new technical skills.
  • Strong scientific and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in English.
