Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a full-time Project Manager Intern at its U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. The role focuses on project management and coordination across departments from concept to mass production.

You will support schedules, milestones, and documentation, working with program managers on complex projects and helping ensure on-time delivery of Garmin products.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software or related field.
• Excellent academics (GPA >= 3.0) as a general rule.
• Demonstrated strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proven project management experience or knowledge of project management concepts/processes.
• Positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver with ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Ability to handle confidential matters.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Assist project management team with defining objectives, requirements, timelines and milestones for internal and external staff.
• Learn to create and adjust project schedules with milestones within subsystem dependencies.
• Assist with facilitating and documenting weekly project status meetings.
• Learn to understand market commitments and ensure schedules meet commitments.
• Collaborate with program managers on complex projects across multiple functional areas and track progress.
• Facilitate communications for core development teams with other teams.
• Learn to manage bill of materials, procedures for product release and tracking development.
• Support change control management and understand project priorities.
