Job summary

Sam Salem & Son, a New York-based home textiles designer and producer since 1944, is seeking a Product Development Manager for our NYC Fifth Avenue offices. You will shepherd products from concept through production, manage costing, factories, samples, and approvals, and craft high-end concepts aligned with client pricing.

Travel to showrooms and factories worldwide is required. The role demands 5+ years in home textiles development, strong cost awareness, and experience with factories,

Qualifications

• 5+ years developing home textiles at an importer, a brand, or a retailer.
• Strong sense of cost and pricing.
• Experience with factories, sampling, and deadlines.
• Willingness to travel regularly.
• Creative, organized, and able to run your own projects.

We're looking for a Product Development Manager with a creative eye to join us. This is a full-time, on-site role at our NYC Fifth Avenue offices.

What you'll do

• Develop product from concept to production: costing, factories, samples, approvals
• Create product and packaging concepts that feel high-end and work at our customers' price points
• Manage pre-production and production samples and keep development on schedule
• Help present new products in line reviews and buyer meetings
• Travel to our showrooms and factories around the world

Who you are

• 5+ years developing home textiles at an importer, a brand, or a retailer
• Great taste and a strong sense of what things cost
• Experienced with factories, sampling, and deadlines
• You love to travel, and you're ready to do it regularly
• Creative, organized, and excited to run your own projects
