We’re seeking an experienced Product Development Manager to lead multidisciplinary development teams in the launch of mortgage product lines. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for gaps in mortgage financial product offerings and an innovative mindset for filling them. This role requires strong market analysis, and the ability to strategize the full lifecycle of a product from ideation to release. We’re looking for a confident leader who can guide cross‑functional teams in the creation, development and launch of mortgage products that serve customers, generate revenue and grow market share.
Objectives of this role
- Drive all aspects of product strategy and tactical deployment for assigned product lines, including product- and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams.
- Analyze customer needs, current market trends, and assess competitor offerings to seek differentiation opportunities.
- Analyze product requirements and develop compliant programs that differentiate mass-market lending products/programs.
- Develop, implement, and maintain launch timelines across multiple departments.
- Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans.
Responsibilities
- Drive the execution of all processes in the product lifecycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch.
- Translate product strategy into detailed requirements and final development by project teams.
- Create product strategy documents describing business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue and ROI.
- Analyze market data to develop sales strategies and define product objectives for effective marketing communications.
- Collaborate with IT, credit, operations, marketing, legal, compliance and sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products, balancing resources to support the organization.
- Develop product positioning and messaging that differentiates Rate across primary market segments.
Required skills and qualifications
- 10 years of progressive mortgage lending experience with supervisory experience in roles such as national underwriting, credit, or operations.
- 3+ years of dynamic mortgage product management experience with a proven track record of leading projects (project management experience).
- Strong knowledge of mortgage manufacturing processes, documentation, regulatory requirements, credit policy, and pricing tactics.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and manage conflict across teams.
- Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle.
- High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams.
- Experience delivering targeted product marketing strategies.
- Exceptional writing and editing, with strong presentation and public speaking skills.
- Ability to deliver results as a member of a remote team.
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in business, management, finance, or technology.
- 5+ years of product management experience at an IMB with experience in agile.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel.
- Proven leadership and servant leadership in a managerial role.
Pay range: 110-120K base salary. Accepting applications for 30 days.
