Job summary

Nexgrill Industries is seeking a Product Development Engineer with an industrial design background to shape our consumer products from concept to production. You will own the process, blending aesthetics with engineering to deliver visually compelling, manufacturable solutions.

You will collaborate across design, engineering, marketing, and suppliers to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and timely production readiness, while maintaining thorough technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in industrial design or related field.
• 3-6 years of product development experience in consumer products, appliances, electronics, or related industries.
• Strong SolidWorks skills (3D modeling, assemblies, 2D drawings).
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Solid grasp of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Turn product concepts and design intent into manufacturable mechanical solutions.
• Build, refine, and validate 3D models, drawings, assemblies, and BOMs.
• Select materials, finishes, and processes balancing performance, cost, and quality.
• Collaborate with Industrial Design, Marketing, Sales, Quality, and Merchandising.
• Coordinate with global suppliers on design for manufacture, tooling, and production readiness.
• Lead sample reviews, pilot builds, and first-article inspections.
• Support performance, durability, safety testing, and regulatory compliance.
• Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Create and maintain clear technical documentation and specifications.
• Continuously seek improvements in product quality, cost, and user experience.

What You'll Do:

What We're Looking For:

• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
• Solid grasp of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and basic GD&T
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams
• Exceptional visual judgment with meticulous attention to detail
• Effective written and verbal communicator

Salary: $85,000- $110,000
