Job summary

Labconco Corporation in Kansas City designs and manufactures laboratory equipment, and seeks a technically skilled engineer to expand the glove box, isolator, and Class III enclosure portfolio while solving complex customer challenges.

You will lead new product development from concept through commercialization, partner with Product Management, Sales, Manufacturing, and Marketing, and translate market needs into innovative engineered solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in product development or design engineering.
• Experience with new product development processes, design validation, and project management.
• Experience with glove boxes, containment equipment, laboratory equipment, industrial equipment, or engineered-to-order products.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and develop new glove box, isolator, and Class III enclosure products from initial concept through market launch and production.
• Lead product development projects, including requirements gathering, design reviews, validation testing, and commercialization activities.
• Develop custom-engineered solutions and product modifications that meet customer-specific application requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and business case evaluations for new product concepts and enhancements.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product documentation using Solid Edge.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities involving Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service.
