Job summary

Labconco seeks a Business Development Engineer to grow its glove box, isolator, and Class III enclosure portfolio through a blend of engineering innovation, technical know-how, and business acumen. You’ll lead cross-functional projects from concept through commercialization, craft 3D models and drawings using Solid Edge, and translate market needs into engineered solutions.

The role combines product development with customer engagement, requiring strong communication and project management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Five or more years of product development, design engineering, or related experience preferred.
• Experience with new product development processes, design validation, and project management preferred.
• Experience with glove boxes, containment equipment, laboratory equipment, industrial equipment, or engineered-to-order products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, test, and develop new glove box, isolator, and Class III enclosure products from initial concept through market launch and production.
• Lead product development projects, including requirements gathering, design reviews, validation testing, and commercialization activities.
• Develop custom-engineered solutions and product modifications that meet customer-specific application requirements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, cost analyses, and business case evaluations for new product concepts and enhancements.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and product documentation using Solid Edge.
