Job summary

Aquent seeks a Product Development professional to transform visionary designs into high-performance athletic footwear. You will lead teams, convert briefs to 3D samples, and ensure on-time delivery while upholding performance standards for athletes worldwide.

Requirements include a bachelor’s in a related field, 1 year of product creation experience, strong communication, and the ability to collaborate with overseas partners. Moderate travel may be required.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Product Development professional to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in transforming visionary designs into tangible, high-performance products that set new industry standards. Your expertise will directly impact the evolution of athletic footwear, bringing cutting-edge concepts to life for consumers worldwide.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead product teams through the creation process, ensuring high-level executions and on-time delivery of products according to critical dates and performance goals.
  • Convert project briefs and 2D design renderings into 3D samples, ensuring rigorous performance standards for athletes are maintained.
  • Push the boundaries of expression through rich storytelling embedded in product development.
  • Develop and apply a fundamental understanding of multiple sports and standard methodologies to identify product and testing requirements, assuring product performance through physical and field-testing (fit).
  • Recommend and specify material, component, and construction options to meet key features and product performance goals.
  • Engage in all phases of the product process to ensure projects are completed on time, meet design intent, and can be commercialized and manufactured.
  • Drive product and process excellence within a team environment for assigned complex projects.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for overseas partners, ensuring clear and accurate communication throughout the product development process.
  • Navigate internal processes to ensure that methodologies align with industry standard practices for product excellence.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in a product creation relevant role, or two additional years of proven experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to clearly articulate goals and objectives.
  • Knowledge of product construction concepts, materials, and the product creation life cycle.
  • Demonstrated collaboration and problem-solving skills in a product creation setting.
  • A self-starter, quick learner, clear communicator, and team player with strong leadership skills.
  • Aptitude to gain knowledge of consumer needs and to bring relevant and impactful solutions to product challenges and opportunities.
What Will Set You Apart
  • Ability to read technical drawings, sketches, and/or 3D digital files.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple work streams with competing priorities to deliver on tight timelines.
  • Knowledge of footwear pattern engineering, tooling, or manufacturing processes.
  • Previous experience with innovative, technical, performance product.
  • Prior experience within a similar product development environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
