Responsibilities:

1. Lead the US team in developing existing product updates and new product introductions to meet the strategic goals of the company. Research and incorporate industry and market trends, competitive positioning, and consumer behaviors into overall project plan.
2. Collaborate with Factory Engineers to guide Innovation, Quality and Performance Standards, Research and Development objectives, determine market viability, project cost and resource requirements.
3. When necessary, and approved, travel to vendor factories to provide training and instruction for the design and production of products.
4. Design and implement Stage Gate elements to execute and monitor success in all steps of the design, manufacture, and packing processes. Ensure timely completion of NPD projects with professionalism.
5. Ensure Quality Standards. Analyze performance data and direct factory improvements. Recruit and manage Field Quality Testers and third-party providers.
6. Negotiate services and monitor results of third-party design vendors as per budget.
7. Maintain open communication with all stakeholders, including co-workers, management, customers, factories, and vendors.
8. Negotiate vendor payment terms and pricing.
9. Manage pricing templates for customer proposals.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Experience in product development and quality control in Pneumatic Power Tools, Electric Power Tools, Air Compressors, or Water Pumps.
2. BA/BS in Mechanical Engineering.
3. Proficient with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Stage-Gate Systems.
4. Process-oriented with ability to develop or improve processes.
5. Strong project management skills.
6. Ability to speak, read, and write Mandarin Chinese.
7. Ability to interpret and respond to requests from customers, regulators, and standards organizations.
8. Willingness to travel up to 20%, mainly to China and other international locations.

Enhanced Experience:

1. 3-6 years in product development and quality control.
2. Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
3. Experience working with manufacturers in China.
4. Fluent in Mandarin.
