Job summary

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is seeking a Product Development Chemist to support the creation and development of prototype products from the laboratory through commercialization. This hands-on role involves experimental work, data analysis, solving technical problems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to bring new products to life.

This onsite role is located in Trumbull, CT, with a contract through April 2027 and potential for extension based on business needs and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related field; associate degree may be considered with experience.
• Experience in product development, formulation, laboratory research, or related industrial environment.
• Familiarity with detergent chemistry and standard testing methods is desirable.
• Hands-on experience setting up and operating laboratory equipment.
• Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend next steps.

Responsibilities

• Develop experimental designs and work plans to create prototype products.
• Conduct chemical, physical, and application testing to evaluate composition and performance.
• Review data, draw conclusions, and propose next steps for development.
• Develop or modify test procedures to address technical challenges.
• Collaborate with packaging, process development, and manufacturing teams.
• Maintain laboratory notebooks and document observations, results, and conclusions.
• Plan and coordinate laboratory experiments and third-party testing.
• Track progress and present data to project teams and management.
• Maintain inventory of materials and equipment; keep workspace organized.
• Uphold health, safety, and environmental requirements in the lab.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry

Associate degree with relevant industrial experience
