Job summary

The State of South Carolina is seeking a Product Developer to support the development and continuous improvement of customized workforce and corporate training products. You will work across Corporate & Continuing Education to translate employer training needs into high-quality solutions and coordinate curriculum development and instructor options.

Job Responsibilities

The Product Developer supports the development and continuous improvement of customized workforce and corporate training products that meet the needs of business and industry. Working collaboratively across Corporate & Continuing Education, this position helps transform employer training needs into high-quality, customized training solutions. The Product Developer conducts training needs assessments; researches workforce trends, curriculum, certifications, and instructional resources; develops and recommends training solutions; coordinates curriculum development and customization; develops and assembles instructional materials and resources; and assists in identification of potential instructors and subject matter experts. The Product Developer manages multiple training-development projects from concept through a defined development stage, preparing projects for program review and finalization. This includes working in collaboration with the appropriate programs area to assemble the curriculum, instructional resources, instructor options, project documentation, and other requirements necessary to advance customized training toward implementation. This position requires a highly organized, resourceful professional who can work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage competing priorities, collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and move projects forward while maintaining a strong focus on quality, responsiveness, and employer partner needs.

This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Harbison and Northeast Campuses.
Minimum And Additional Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Business Administration, Education, Workforce Development, Instructional Design, Organizational Development, or a related field. Experience in project management, product or program development, workforce development, corporate training, continuing education, curriculum development, or a related field. Experience managing or coordinating multiple projects with competing priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

Masters degree in related field. Experience in adult education. Experience in working with faculty or industry subject matter experts. Demonstrated ability to conduct research, evaluate resources, organize information, and develop recommendations or solutions. Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multiple stakeholders. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other business technology applications.
