Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a senior UX lead based in Seattle or San Francisco to design data-intensive products for engineers, researchers, and product teams. You will own the end-to-end design, shaping interaction models that translate complex systems into clear, actionable insights.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define durable patterns for AI-native workflows and establish high-quality information architecture and visual craft across multi-surface products.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience owning data products, observability platforms, or analytics tools.
• Strong product and systems thinking to set direction in ambiguous space.
• Ability to translate complex infrastructure into clear product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for data-intensive products used by engineers, researchers, and product teams.
• Shape the complete learning loop: instrument, launch, observe, investigate, evaluate, decide, and iterate.
• Create high-craft workflows for querying, filtering, visualization, alerting, and sharing.
• Make complex concepts like data freshness, reliability, uncertainty, and rollout state understandable and actionable.
• Collaborate with engineering, data science, research, and product management to translate infrastructure into elegant experiences.
• Define interaction patterns for emerging AI-native workflows.
• Establish patterns that create consistency across enterprise tools.
