Job summary

TikTok is seeking a design-focused professional to shape end-to-end social experiences from insight to prototyping and launch validation. You will lead design across core social scenarios like friend interactions, Story, and DMs, and collaborate with PMs and engineers to deliver high-quality product experiences.

You will turn product and design ideas into high-fidelity demos using AI coding tools, while staying curious and data-driven.

Qualifications

• Deep hands-on practice with AI coding tools.
• Ability to independently turn product and design ideas into high-fidelity, interactive demos for validation and feasibility.
• Strong product and data sense with sharp design judgment and attention to experience detail.
• Ability to curate and elevate from large volumes of AI-generated output, turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
• Curiosity and drive to explore the unknown.
• Capability to identify and define problems across complex business and user contexts.
• Ability to propose well-judged solutions and drive them through to launch.
• Strong communication and cross-team collaboration, with an optimistic approach in fast-changing environments.
• Strong self-drive with a learning loop, valuing reflection and retrospection to build reusable methods and insight.
• Experience shipping social, creator, or content products at scale.
• Side projects involving social, AI-driven, or generative experiences.
• Hands-on coding background.

Responsibilities

• Lead TikTok social product design across core social scenarios: friend interactions and sharing, Story, and DMs.
• Explore new approaches to spark authentic connection and interaction between users.
• Translate user needs into product direction using product thinking and data.
• Build business understanding to surface real user needs and propose design ideas and product directions.
• Drive concepts through launch and validation.
• Prototype with AI coding tools to find optimization opportunities.
• Rapidly turn ideas into interactive demos to shorten the path from concept to validation.
• Maintain a high aesthetic bar across social product experiences.
• Apply social instinct using learnings from social products across markets and stay current on social interaction patterns and cultural trends.
• Address complex business contexts with the simplest design approach that solves the core problem.
• Partner closely with product managers and engineers to coordinate cross-functionally and ship high-quality product experiences.
