Job summary

Meta is seeking a highly skilled Product Design Mechanical Engineer in Sunnyvale, CA, onsite, to lead mechanical design, integration and validation for next‑generation AR/VR devices, wearables and data infra.

You will perform structural, thermal and vibration analyses, drive DFM/DFA from concept to mass production, and collaborate with suppliers and contract manufacturers to ensure battery safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in mechanical design of consumer electronics or battery systems.
• Proficiency with CAD tools NX.
• Experience in consumer electronics, automotive, or wearables industries.
• Experience with prototyping, testing and validation.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analysis for mechanical integrity.
• Drive DFM and DFA from concept to mass production.
• Conduct root cause analysis for battery-related issues.
• Collaborate with suppliers/CMs to ensure battery components quality.
• Design mechanical enclosures for Li-ion packs and integration.
• Support regulatory compliance and safety certifications (UN38.3, UL, IEC).
