Job summary

Delart in Redmond, WA is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to architect and validate robust battery systems for robotics and consumer electronics.

You will lead testing, validation, and tolerance analyses, collaborating with electrical and firmware teams and guiding contract manufacturers toward high-volume production readiness.

The role emphasizes safety, thermal management, GD&T, FEA, and DOE-driven design iterations to deliver reliable power solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in mechanical design of complex electromechanical systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Experience with lightweight battery modules and mechanical packaging.
• Strong thermal management for battery/electronic systems.
• DOE and validation test protocol execution.

Responsibilities

• Architect and optimize lightweight, swappable battery systems with emphasis on safety, weight reduction, and reliability for robotic applications.
• Lead design, validation, performance, endurance, and life-cycle testing of subsystems, overseeing testing methodologies and data analysis.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues through failure analysis and design iteration.
• Guide contract manufacturers for high-volume production readiness and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with reliability, electrical, and firmware engineers for integration.
• Develop test fixtures, write protocols, execute tests, and analyze data for design improvements.
• Design battery docking/interface components and support robotics subsystems as needed.
• Oversee prototyping and perform tolerance analysis, GD&T, and static/modal FEA.
