Job summary

Watlow is seeking a Product Design Engineer I to create and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings for heaters and related systems. You will work under guidance to build core CAD, GD&T, and Watlow drafting standards while ensuring designs are safe, manufacturable, and compliant.

You will convert customer requirements into SolidWorks models, prepare ASME calculations, and manage part numbers and BOMs, coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to resolve issues and ensure

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Proficiency with 3D CAD; SolidWorks preferred.
Basic Excel and general computer skills.

Responsibilities

Convert customer requirements into 3D SolidWorks models and 2D drawings using standard templates and Watlow standards.
Prepare ASME engineering calculations in support of individual designs.
Create and maintain part numbers and Bills of Materials in the ERP system.
Coordinate with product engineering, manufacturing, quality, and operations to produce compliant and manufacturable designs.
Assist in troubleshooting product design issues in manufacturing.
