Job summary

Juggernaut Defense LLC in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Product Design Engineer to independently develop mechanical components and assemblies from concept to production, partnering with Industrial Design, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering. You will apply DFMA, design injection-molded plastics and CNC housings, and create detailed CAD models and drawings for production.

A 3–5 year track record in design for commercial, industrial, or defense applications is required, with Creo or 3D CAD

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of product development and manufacturing experience.
• Experience designing mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for demanding applications.
• Knowledge of DFMA, tolerancing, and manufacturability considerations.
• Experience with injection molding of plastics and CNC housings for electrical assemblies.
• U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status.
• Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD; Creo experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently design mechanical components, assemblies, and subsystems from concept through production.
• Translate product requirements into durable, manufacturable engineering solutions.
• Develop concepts using sketching, 3D CAD, rendering, mock-ups, and 3D printing.
• Create detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and product layouts.
• Apply DFMA principles and consider materials, processes, assembly, serviceability, and cost.
• Design complex plastic components for injection molding and CNC components for electrical assemblies.
• Balance performance, durability, manufacturability, and schedule in design decisions.
• Plan and execute engineering validation testing for components and systems.
• Build, evaluate, and iterate prototypes to validate concepts.
• Own and maintain engineering documentation and ECOs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design-for-manufacture and smooth transitions to production.
