Job summary

X4 Engineering in the Houston area is seeking a hands-on engineer to own product data integrity and manage engineering changes across a growing product line. This onsite role requires deep experience with mechanical design, BOM structures, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will lead the end-to-end ECR process for complex assemblies, ensure CAD data accuracy in the PDM system, and work with manufacturing, IT, and suppliers to keep data clean and aligned with ERP integrations.

Qualifications

• Mechanical engineering degree.
• 5–7+ years as product design engineer or CM lead rooted in mechanical product.
• Experience with CAD data and BOM in PDM systems.
• Experience validating released items and BOM data for external system integrations.

Responsibilities

A well-established power generation equipment manufacturer near Houston is hiring a hands-on engineer to own product data integrity and engineering change control across a growing product line.

Houston - Onsite role

What you'll do:

• Act as technical owner for CAD data structure and release accuracy inside the PDM environment
• Run the engineering change process end to end - from evaluation through implementation - for complex mechanical assemblies and multi-level BOMs
• Partner with manufacturing, supply chain, and IT to keep released engineering data clean and accurate
• Validate BOM and item accuracy when supporting integrations with external systems and ERP

What you'll bring:

• Mechanical engineering degree
• 5-7+ years as a product design engineer or configuration management lead rooted in mechanical product - ideally from power generation, industrial equipment, or automotive
• Advanced, hands-on proficiency with Autodesk Inventor and Vault (required, not preferred)
• Experience validating released items and BOM data to support external system integration, including participating in integration testing
• Comfortable working independently in a high-rigor, revision-controlled environment

Nice to have:

• Vault administration / lifecycle configuration experience
• Exposure to formal quality systems (ISO or similar)
