Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in configuration management, PLM or data control in high‑regulation manufacturing.
• Experience managing complex product structures in PLM systems with major CAD tools.
• Solid knowledge of EIA-649 and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

Responsibilities

• Architect and maintain multi‑level product configurations and CAD BOMs in PLM/PDM.
• Lead Engineering Change Management workflows, ECOs/ECNs, deviations and waivers.
• Audit configurations and synchronize data between PLM/PDM and ERP/MES.
• Perform baseline audits, manage part numbering and naming conventions.
• Support MB/MBE initiatives and ensure manufacturability of designs.

Job description

We are seeking a Configuration Management Engineer to serve as the critical technical gatekeeper for our complex mechanical assemblies and advanced manufacturing operations. In this dual-impact role, you will bridge the gap between design engineering and production execution by mastering both enterprise Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) structures and technical drawing precision. You will be responsible for defining product configurations, managing multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs), enforcing engineering change control, and auditing high-precision CAD models and GD&T standards to ensure seamless manufacturing handoffs.

Key Responsibilities

Configuration & Data Management

• Architect, structure, and maintain multi-level product configurations, CAD-integrated BOMs, and engineering datasets within tier-one PLM/PDM systems.
• Lead cross-functional Engineering Change Management workflows, authoring and executing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), deviations, and waivers.
• Conduct configuration impact assessments, enforce strict revision control, and manage data synchronization between PLM/PDM and enterprise ERP/MES platforms.
• Perform baseline audits, manage part numbering and naming conventions, and resolve BOM or configuration discrepancies prior to full production release.
• Drive digital thread initiatives, supporting Model-Based Definition (MBD) and Model-Based Enterprise (MBE) best practices.

Drawing Verification & Quality Control

• Review and approve engineering drawings and 3D CAD models to verify drawing accuracy, tolerance stack-ups, and ASME Y14.5 GD&T compliance.
• Ensure product configurations are fully manufacturable through precision machining, composite fabrication, and specialized surface treatment processes.
• Deliver clear redline markups, lead technical design standard reviews, and advise cross-functional teams on drawing quality and stack-up integrity.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of configuration management, PLM engineering, CAD detailing, or engineering data control experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience managing complex product structures in PLM systems (e.g., Windchill, Teamcenter, Enovia/3DEXPERIENCE) alongside top‑tier CAD packages (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, Creo, Siemens NX).
• Solid working knowledge of standard configuration principles (e.g., EIA-649, CMII) and ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Configuration Management certification (CMII, CMPIC, or equivalent).
• ASME GDTP certification (Technologist or Senior level).
• Direct experience integrating enterprise PLM platforms with ERP/MES environments
