Job description

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering (Preferable), or related engineering discipline.
• 3+ years of product design or product development engineering experience.
• Experience supporting products through the full product development lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience implementing and driving APQP processes.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, Creo, Inventor, NX, or similar).
• Experience creating and managing large product assemblies and complex engineering models.
• Strong understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) principles and engineering documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with electrical and mechanical systems within the same product.
• Background supporting new product introductions (NPI) in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience working with cross-functional engineering and quality teams.
• Knowledge of FMEA, validation testing, and quality planning tools.

Day to Day:

We are seeking a Project Design Engineer to support our Client's Service offerings and engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle. This individual will work closely with be the lead engineers to develop, improve, and launch client-specific products (critical infrastructure solutions), driving projects from concept through production readiness.

The ideal candidate will have a strong electro-mechanical engineering background, though highly qualified mechanical engineers with product development experience will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Support engineering and offering Service teams in the design and development of various products.
• Execute product design projects from concept through production release.
• Create and maintain 3D models, assemblies, drawings, and engineering documentation.
• Develop and model complete product assemblies rather than individual components, ensuring system-level functionality and integration.
• Lead or support Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities throughout the product development process.
• Implement APQP methodologies, quality planning processes, and product launch best practices.
• Partner with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and service management teams to ensure successful product implementation.
• Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, validation testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support product changes, enhancements, and new product introductions.
