Description
The Associate is responsible for completing in-store food and non‑food demonstrations. They acquire and maintain knowledge of products represented, prepare, serve, and break down product, equipment, and supplies, and intercept consumers to demonstrate products in a professional manner. The Associate maintains an overall professional appearance consistent with the job requirements.
This role is not expected to exceed more than 25 hours per week, although the company may modify the role based on business or client needs.
Responsibilities
- Proactively intercept, engage, interact, and sell product to the consumer positively.
- Effectively communicate the features and benefits of the product.
- Prepare and serve food samples using small appliances such as microwaves, fryers, skillets, coffee makers, and knives.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and safe workstation with cleaning chemicals.
- Maintain a professional appearance consistent with job requirements.
- Properly set up and prepare event tables for execution.
- Achieve 100% execution on assigned work.
- Assist with preparation for client visits and complete audit corrections.
- Build and maintain rapport with store personnel to meet company and client objectives.
- Complete expense reports per company policy.
- Accurately prepare and submit all online requirements on the same day as event execution.
- Access the internet, navigate company electronic systems, use Microsoft Outlook, and view assigned documents in Microsoft Word and Adobe PDF forms.
Qualifications
- Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in using personal computer or mobile device applications and internal systems.
- Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Local food handlers permit may be required.
- Physical Demands: Stand and walk throughout the shift; use hands, fingers, and arms up to 65 inches; lift and carry up to 25 pounds (occasionally up to 50 pounds); push and pull a wheeled demonstration cart fully laden; prepare foods and beverages using required appliances; be in contact with cleaning supplies.
- Work Environment: Retail store environment; limited travel.
- Physical Appearance: Maintain a professional appearance and grooming; follow retailer dress code.
- Language Skills: English primary; bilingual may be required.
- Salary Range: $15.00 – $15.00 per hour.
