Talentoma is seeking a Product Data Specialist to maintain product information, ensure accurate attributes, and support ecommerce teams. The role sits in the product management group and collaborates with merchandising and operations.

This is a fully remote, desk-based position with a 40-hour work week based in the United States. The ideal candidate will handle data requests, verify details, use Akeneo, Google Sheets, and Trello, and ensure consistency across the catalog through careful review

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of product data, catalog maintenance, or related ecommerce administration experience preferred.
• Understanding of product identifiers, attribute structures, category hierarchies, and parent vs. variant relationships.
• Familiarity with spreadsheet sorting, filtering, lookups, and structured import templates.
• Ability to follow procedures, compare source values, and request reviews when needed.
• Clear written communication for discrepancies and handover notes.

Responsabilidades

• Escalate unresolved discrepancies with examples to the product data team lead.
• Review updates and notify colleagues when changes are ready for review.
• Meet quality standards for accuracy, turnaround, and notes.

Summary

Accurate product attributes, consistent categories, and complete update notes are the standards for good work in this role. The Product Data Specialist maintains product information that helps online shoppers compare items and helps internal teams use dependable catalog details. The position sits within the product management team, works under a product data team lead, and collaborates with product managers, merchandising colleagues, and ecommerce operations. This is a fully remote, desk-based position offering work from home in New York, United States. The role requires a 40-hour weekly commitment. Working days and shift times may vary.

Job Responsibilities

• Receive product setup and update requests through a shared queue, checking the requested changes, source information, priorities, and missing details before starting work.
• Compare product identifiers, dimensions, materials, variants, and category assignments against approved source information, identifying inconsistencies without guessing at missing values.
• Maintain approved attributes in a product information management system such as Akeneo, following established field definitions, naming conventions, and required attribute standards.
• Prepare product updates using a spreadsheets and data entry tool such as Google Sheets, checking formats, duplicate entries, required fields, and relationships between variants.
• Apply existing product categories and attribute mappings so related items remain consistently organized across the online catalog and internal product views.
• Track requests through a project management tool such as Trello, recording the source, changes made, outstanding questions, and the current completion status.
• Follow up with product managers or merchandising colleagues when descriptions conflict, attributes are incomplete, or a requested change needs confirmation before entry.
• Escalate unresolved discrepancies, repeated import errors, and unclear category assignments to the product data team lead, including examples and checks already completed.
• Review saved updates and import results, confirm approved values appear correctly, and notify requesting colleagues when changes are ready for their review.
• Meet quality standards measured through attribute accuracy, turnaround, complete notes, and timely follow-up, while highlighting recurring issues that could affect later updates.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Approximately 1-2 years of product data, catalog maintenance, or related ecommerce administration experience preferred.
• Understanding of product identifiers, attribute structures, category hierarchies, and the differences between parent products and individual variants.
• Familiarity with spreadsheet sorting, filtering, lookup functions, and structured import templates for checking and maintaining product information.
• Ability to follow product information system procedures, compare source values, and recognize when an update needs additional review.
• Clear written communication for explaining discrepancies, asking focused questions, and leaving useful handover notes for colleagues.
• Careful handling of detailed, repetitive updates, with consistent use of checklists and established approval steps before changes are finalized.
• A reliable computer, high-speed internet, and quiet private workspace, plus availability for the 40-hour weekly commitment and agreed working days and shift times.
• Authorization to work in the United States.
• Fully remote work focused on desk-based product information tasks and collaboration with colleagues from home.
• Structured onboarding and training on the named systems, with guided practice using product fields, update templates, and review checklists.
• Regular check-ins with the team lead to review priorities, discuss questions, and receive feedback on completed updates.
