Job summary

Boeing Oklahoma City is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist for a 1-year contract assignment. You will help verify baselines, plan and conduct design reviews, and develop change proposals across complex products and subsystems.

As part of the team, you will implement CM standards for hardware, software and engineering data, coordinating with design and modification facilities to resolve CM issues. Applicants must have CM experience and familiarity with EIA 649-1 rules.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated CM knowledge for military standards and change processes.
  • Experience with configuration status accounting and AS design data systems.
  • Ability to coordinate with engineers and modification facilities on CM rules.

Responsibilities

Configuration Management

This posting is for a contract assignment and is not a full-time employment offer with Boeing. Candidates selected for roles will be employed as contract workers through a Boeing approved 3rd party for the duration of the specified project.

Collaborates with teams in the development, analysis, management and compliance verification of process and product baselines of complex products. Defines, plans, coordinates and conducts product and subsystem level technical design reviews and audits for new and derivative products. Analyzes complex product trades and/or changes and develops technically complete change proposals. Contributes to the development and implementation of Configuration and Data Management standards, processes and tools. Defines and allocates Configuration and Data Management requirements for product hardware, software and engineering design data systems throughout the product lifecycle. Coordinates the integration of product elements and analyzes & resolves issues with engineering product structure. Develops, integrates and implements engineering technical program plans including impacts, risks and incorporation of lessons learned spanning multiple engineering functions. Works under general direction.

B-52 CERP is an engine replacement program. Boeing Oklahoma City is in charge of implementing a new engine and systems involved with an engine. This means adapting 2020 engine technology into a 1950s airplane architecture. The engine on the aircraft not only provides thrust but Bleed air to provide cooling to the aircraft, hydraulic power to move large surfaces, electrical power for the electronics. The controls for that engine will be in the cockpit.

(6) Configuration Management Specialists. Ability to be able to inform the designers on the rules of military configuration management. What type of kitting is necessary in order to perform the modification, how to organize the drawing structure for the engineers and for the modification facility.
