Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Financial Analyst for our R&D Finance team to illuminate the true costs of building, delivering, and scaling Cloudflare’s products. You’ll partner across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure Finance and Pricing to convert resource usage into clear unit economics and actionable insights.

This hands-on role blends financial modeling, operational data, and cross-functional problem solving.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in FP&A, strategic finance, cost analysis or similar, with model-building experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Sheets with driver-based models and scenario testing.
• Ability to work with large, imperfect datasets and document assumptions and controls.
• Understanding of financial statements, gross margin, unit economics and capex/depreciation.
• Ability to learn technical business models and link resource usage to financial outcomes.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain product cost models translating compute, storage, bandwidth and AI resource usage into unit costs.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to evaluate new products and changes; quantify cost and margin implications.
• Develop and validate shared-cost allocations with Infrastructure Finance and data partners.
• Support Pricing with reliable cost inputs and scenario analyses for commercial decisions.
• Connect capital investment to product economics: analyze server costs, depreciation, utilization.
• Contribute to capacity planning and forecast updates; explain timing and mix effects on costs.
• Produce decision-ready reports on costs, unit economics and margin drivers.
• Automate recurring analyses to improve forecasting speed and reliability.
• Translate analysis into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
