Job summary

Cloudflare is hiring a Financial Analyst to join the R&D Finance team, building product unit economics and actionable insights from compute, storage, and bandwidth data. You will partner with Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure Finance to translate usage into costs and margins.

This hands-on role blends financial modeling, data analysis, and cross-functional problem-solving, with opportunities to expand ownership of developer economics and self-serve product economics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in FP&A or related analytical field with financial modeling experience.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets with driver-based models and scenario analysis.
• Ability to work with large datasets and reconcile financial and operational views.
• Understanding of financial statements, cost drivers, gross margin and unit economics.
• Ability to learn technical business models and connect resource usage to financial outcomes.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and clear communication; able to explain analysis to varied audiences.
• Experience applying AI tools to finance problems and evaluate emerging tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain product cost models translating compute, storage, bandwidth and AI resource usage into unit cost-to-serve with transparent assumptions.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to evaluate new product introductions and shifts in resource usage; quantify cost and margin implications.
• Develop and validate shared-cost analyses with Finance and data partners; distinguish direct, shared and unused costs.
• Support Pricing with cost inputs and scenario analysis for commercial decisions and quotes.
• Analyze server costs, deployment timing and depreciation to link investments to product economics.
• Contribute to capacity planning with demand-versus-capacity scenarios and forecast updates.
• Produce decision-ready reporting on product costs, unit economics and margin drivers.
• Improve finance data workflows with automation and recurring analyses; validate inputs and reconciliation checks.
• Translate analysis into actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical partners.
