Job summary

Platinum Tooling Technologies Inc. is seeking a Product Application Engineer to join our on-site team in Prospect Heights, IL.

You will provide technical support to customers and sales partners, selecting live tools and angle heads for metalworking operations on CNC lathes and mills, and preparing proposals. Daily tasks include reviewing requirements, evaluating machine tool setups, installing and commissioning tooling solutions, and troubleshooting on-site.

Qualifications

• Strong technical support and troubleshooting skills for tooling and machine tool applications, with the ability to diagnose issues and recommend solutions.
• Experience collaborating with sales and engineering teams, supporting and communicating technical information in a clear, customer-focused manner.
• Relevant experience in metalworking, machining, or manufacturing environments; familiarity with live tools and angle heads is highly beneficial.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities on-site.
• Proficiency with CAD software and Microsoft 365.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical experience in a related field

Role Description

The Product Application Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Prospect Heights, IL. This position is responsible for providing technical support to customers and sales partners, including selection and application of live tools, angle heads, and related products for metalworking operations used on CNC lathes and mills

Day-to-day tasks include reviewing customer requirements, evaluating machine tool setups, preparing technical proposals, and supporting installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of tooling solutions. The role collaborates closely with sales, engineering, and manufacturing partners to develop application recommendations.
