KIFI Local News 8 in Idaho Falls is seeking a highly motivated Producer to join our fast-paced newsroom. You will work with reporters and photographers to craft timely stories and coordinate coverage of breaking news, severe weather, and community events.

The ideal candidate has strong writing and organizational skills, a journalism or mass communications background, and the ability to stay calm under pressure.

Qualifications

• Degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Must possess the ability to stay calm under pressure and handle stress.
• Must be a good team leader, proficient in multi-tasking and have a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Direct reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks.
• Respond to viewer inquiries and make regular beat calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of breaking news.

Education

Journalism / Mass Communications degree preferred

The ideal candidate has strong writing and organizational skills. We’re a fast-paced newsroom that emphasizes breaking news, enterprise reporting, and severe weather coverage. Duties include directing reporters and photographers to complete assigned tasks, responding to viewer inquiries, and making regular "beat" calls to police and fire agencies to stay on top of breaking news, possess a winning attitude and want to be an integral part of the "big story".

A degree in journalism, mass communications or equivalent experience is preferred. Excellent verbal and written communications skills, strong attention to detail, and possess the ability to stay calm under pressure and handle stress is a must. Must be a good team leader, proficient in multi-tasking and have a flexible schedule.
