Job summary

Qualifications

• Ability to handle stressful situations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, subtraction).
• Current food handlers permit upon employment.

Responsibilities

• Role model the 3A’s of Friendly: acknowledge, assist and appreciate customers.
• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an welcoming environment by answering questions about products and assisting customers.
• Gain knowledge of products and respond to questions with suggestions.
• Assist with produce platters/trays preparation.
• Inform customers of produce specials and promotions.
• Recommend items to meet customer needs.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness; take action as needed.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Maintain a positive attitude and stay aware of ads.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers; maintain temperature logs.
• Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance and notify management of needed repairs.
• Notify management of accidents; report safety risks or illegal activity.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment and manage conflicts calmly.
