Job summary

Responsibilities

• Promote Corporate Brands to customers.
• Promote trust and respect among associates.
• Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome by answering questions about products sold within the department and store.
• Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions and make suggestions.
• Assist with the preparation produce platters/trays.
• Inform customers of produce specials.
• Recommend items to customers to ensure they get what they want.
• Adequately prepare, package, label and inventory merchandise.
• Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action.
• Label, stock and inventory department merchandise.
• Report product ordering/shipping discrepancies to the department manager.
• Display a positive attitude.
• Stay current with present, future, seasonal and special ads.
• Ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers are maintained and temperature logs are maintained.
• Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and identify unsafe conditions.
• Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying manager of repairs.
• Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
• Report safety risks or illegal activity to store management.
• Ability to work cooperatively in high paced environments.
• Ability to manage conflict in a cooperative manner.
• Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Follow directions and seek assistance to resolve customer and business issues.
• Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
