Job summary

SpartanNash seeks a Produce Associate to maintain and operate the produce department in Rapid City. You will cut, weigh and label products, assist with unloading and stocking, and ensure freshness and display standards.

You will follow safety guidelines, apply guest experience standards, and may help in other departments as needed. Prior retail experience is preferred, with a focus on accuracy and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed; follow procedures for culling, trimming and storing product.
• Weigh, package and label products.
• Handle spoiled/damaged products per guidelines.
• Fill, rotate and merchandise produce and floral shelves; assist with unloading deliveries and stacking in coolers.
• Notify the Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers.
• Maintain familiarity with all department products and compare price, taste and use.
• Maintain a clean, attractive and well stocked department.
• Follow PPE, safety, food safety and cleaning guidelines.
• Follow Guest Experience Guidelines; may assist in other departments as needed.
