Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Produce Clerk to maintain and operate the produce department, including trimming and preparation of merchandise, ensuring the department meets company standards. You will weigh, package, label, and merchandise products while adhering to safety and cleaning guidelines.

The role requires basic math, good attention to detail, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Experience in retail is preferred; this is an on-site position with a focus on guest experience and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret basic documents; basic math skills are expected.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed; follow procedures for culling, trimming and storing product.
• Weigh, package and label products.
• Properly fill, rotate and merchandise produce and floral shelves, cases and displays; assist with unloading deliveries and stacking product in coolers.
• Notify the Manager if products or supplies need to be ordered.
• Practice suggestive selling techniques with customers.
