Job summary

SpartanNash, a distributor and retailer, is seeking a Produce Associate for the Elkhart, Indiana location to maintain and operate the produce department, including trimming and preparation of merchandise according to standards.

You will weigh, package, label, rotate, merchandise shelves, assist unloading deliveries, and practice safe PPE and food handling guidelines while delivering friendly guest experiences. A High School Diploma is preferred; one year of retail experience is also preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend and interpret documents.
• Detail oriented with basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Cut, slice, and prepare produce as directed; follow procedures for culling, trimming and storing product.
• Weigh, package and label products; rotate and merchandise produce and floral shelves.
• Assist with unloading deliveries and stacking product in coolers.
• Notify the Manager if products and supplies need to be ordered; practice suggestive selling.
• Maintain clean, attractive, and well-stocked departments; follow safety and food-handling guidelines.
