Job summary

Harps Food Stores, Inc. is seeking a Produce Clerk to support the Produce Department operations, ensuring readiness, staffing, and cleanliness.

You will handle replenishment, inventory, merchandising, and fresh food preparation while maintaining safety standards and excellent customer service. You’ll work to exceed customer expectations and collaborate with the team to uphold Harps’ mission of value, quality, and friendly service.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
• Adaptable to shifting priorities and rapid change
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely manner
• Moves, lifts, carries and places merchandise weighing up to 60 pounds
• Frequent reach overhead and bending; occasional squatting/kneeling
• Continuous repetitive motion with hands and arms
• Stands/walks continuously during shift
• May be exposed to weather conditions and cleaning chemicals
• May be exposed to latex, eggs, nuts, soy and wheat
• Employment contingent upon PEP survey, drug screen, background check

Responsibilities

• Produce Department Operations – readiness, staffing, supervision, price maintenance, policies and procedures, inventory prep, department goals and cleanliness
• Replenishment & Inventory Procedures – ordering, replenishment, receiving, invoicing, back stock, reclamation and returns
• Merchandising & Sales Floor Standards – stocking, rotation, signing, displays, sampling and department procedures
• Fresh Food Preparation & Production – food safety, preparation and production, cool standards, service counters
• Problem Solving – identify issues and use critical thinking to find solutions
• Safety/Quality Orientation – emphasize high quality and safety for people and products
