Qualifications

• Extensive produce knowledge including production, distribution, seasonal availability and trends.
• Familiarity with products, nutritional info, and related study areas.
• Working knowledge of produce merchandising expectations.
• Ability to educate team on product knowledge and convey enthusiasm.
• Strong basic math skills.
• Knowledge and ability to use computer programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and ordering systems.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to meet customer service standards in all interactions.
• Follow directions, manage time, and stay organized.

Responsibilities

• Purchases and replenishes produce through proper buying procedures.
• Monitors and acts on open PO reports for purchases and credits.
• Controls spoilage and shrink and participates in inventory.
• Completes spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep worksheets as required.
• Maximizes sales through stocking and merchandising procedures.
• Ensures orders are timely and accurate to monitor inventory turns.
• Oversees customer special order procedure.
• Analyzes product transfers and waste.
• Supports leadership in inventories.
• Maintains profitability by meeting purchasing and sales targets.
• Arrives on time and ready to work; attends trainings and meetings.
• Provides excellent customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
