PRODUCE/LEAD CLERK (Finance)

Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- Effective communication skills
- Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction)
- Ability to handle stressful situations
- Current food handler's permit upon employment
Preferred Qualifications and Responsibilities:
- Management experience is preferred
- Produce department experience is preferred
- Adhere to all local, state, federal laws, safety, and food safety regulations and company policies.
- Promote trust and respect among team members.
- Communicate company, department, and job-specific information effectively.
- Set performance goals and empower team members to meet or exceed them through collaboration.
- Develop staffing schedules to manage customer volume during operating hours.
- Train and develop associates on job performance, including inventory management, stocking, and retailing.
- Create a welcoming environment for customers, answering questions and recommending products.
- Offer product samples and inform customers of specials.
- Inspect products for quality and freshness, taking appropriate action as needed.
- Use Fresh Insights to ensure proper sell-through and reduce shrinkage.
- Recommend produce items to customers based on their needs.
- Develop and implement a business plan for the department.
- Work in refrigerated areas and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Implement merchandising and promotional plans.
- Keep department associates updated on advertisements and promotions.
- Monitor and control department expenses.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and ensure price integrity.
- Assist with inventory processes and ensure proper temperature controls and logs.
- Practice safety procedures, identify unsafe conditions, and notify management.
- Inspect equipment and notify for repairs as needed.
- Report safety risks, accidents, and illegal activities.
- Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
