Job summary

Harris Teeter in Sterling, Virginia is seeking a capable supervisor to lead the Produce Department, with possible responsibility for the Floral Department. You will direct, coordinate, and evaluate these departments, ensuring adherence to Harris Teeter policies and applicable laws.

The role includes interviewing and training associates, planning, assigning, and directing work; assisting in performance appraisal and disciplinary actions; and addressing customer complaints.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or two to three years related experience and/or training.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and willingness to participate in required training to increase customer satisfaction and sales.
• Ability to read and write English and present information to customers and associates who speak English.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise up to 20 associates in the Produce Department.
• May also be assigned responsibility for the Floral Department.
• Direct, coordinate, and evaluate the Produce and Floral departments in accordance with Harris Teeter policies and laws.
• Interview and train associates; plan, assign, and direct work; assist in performance appraisal; reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems.
