Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager in Phoenix to help customers make healthy choices through excellent service. You will assist in managing a busy produce department and lead a team to ensure quality and freshness.

You will oversee inventory, merchandising, and safety compliance, while training staff and coordinating daily tasks. The role requires physical stamina and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and have a basic knowledge of math, weights and measures.
• Be dependable and reliable with flexible schedules including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Have outgoing, friendly behavior with the ability to interact with customers.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to take direction in a team environment.
• Perform general housekeeping and sanitize work areas in the department.
• Adhere to safety, health, and weights and measures regulations including COOL and Food Handlers permit.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
• Ability to use a pallet jack to move pallets up to 20 feet.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit.
• Order and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Maintain freshness standards through proper receiving, processing, packaging, and rotation.
• Lead a team to deliver high-quality products and excellent service.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, and developing the Produce team.
• Unload store deliveries and maintain produce equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
