Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market is seeking an Assistant Produce Manager to support the Produce Manager in optimizing department productivity, inventory, and staff development. You will ensure product freshness, manage pricing and signage, and foster excellent customer service in a fast-paced store environment.

You will assist in hiring, training, and supervising the Produce team, coordinate merchandising efforts, and uphold safety and sanitation standards while delivering a high-quality shopping

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age with basic math knowledge.
• Dependable with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.
• Outgoing, friendly demeanor and ability to engage customers.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team.
• Perform general housekeeping and maintain sanitation and safety standards.
• Follow safety, health, Weights and Measures regulations including COOL and food handler permit.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, climb and lift up to 50 lbs; use a pallet jack when needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Produce Manager in managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
• Oversee ordering, inventory, product quality, and supervision of the Produce team.
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through planning, direction, and teamwork.
• Maintain freshness and proper receiving, processing, packaging, pricing, signage, and display standards.
• Lead a team effort to deliver the highest quality products and customer service.
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, and developing the Produce team.
• Unload deliveries, operate and maintain produce equipment.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute to overall department success.
