Fresh Madison Market, part of the SpartanNash family, seeks a hands‑on leader to run department operations in the store during the manager’s absence, ensuring staffing, training, and alignment with company goals.

You’ll manage inventory, review orders, supervise stocking and production, monitor KPIs, and uphold guest experience, safety, and compliance while developing associates and scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate (Required) or Equivalent (GED).
• 0-2 years of retail experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication, and bookkeeping skills.
• Good organization, prioritization, decision‑making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
• Strong leadership abilities with capability to work in a hands‑on environment.
• Good strategic planning and business acumen skills.
• Good knowledge of retail store operations; knowledge of retail management systems.
• Suggestive Selling/Knowledge of Products preferred.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Depending on company location, ability to communicate in Spanish is highly desirable.

Responsabilités

• Lead day‑to‑day department operations in the store in the absence of the department manager.
• Order and maintain inventory, and minimize loss while ensuring product freshness.
• Review and validate received orders for amount, quality, count or weight.
• Manage a team that completes stocking, production, and related tasks to ensure quality and date sensitivity.
• Maintain familiarity with products and store promotions to support sales and rewards programs.
• Communicate and execute Flight Plans to meet company timelines.
• Assist with scheduling, labor control, and payroll expense for the department.
